After spending our first couple of weeks on the road boondocking, staying at RV parks, and campgrounds, we decided that it was time to try something new; spending the night at a Harvest Host! We opened the Harvest Host app on our phone and saw that there was a Harvest Host along the route that we were looking to take through Oregon. Since it is best to give a 24 hour notice to any host, we called ahead to Emerson Vineyards and asked if they would have space for us to stay the following night, luckily for us, they did!
Tucked in beautiful Willimatte Valley this winery is surrounded by picture perfect views! We walked into the tasting room and checked in with Alex, who was super friendly and helpful. The RV spaces are in a gravel area behind the side barn that sits next to the larger tasting room. The space is fairly level and quite spacious, even if there had been other harvest hosts guests we would have had plenty of space between us. After we parked the RV we headed back inside to do a wine tasting with Alex, and we were blown away with how delicious the wines were! We also happened to be there on a holiday weekend and they had set out a whole table full of snacks and goodies for their guests to make themselves a plate to enjoy.
After the tasting and making ourselves a plate of food, we decided to purchase two bottles, one that we popped open right away and took out to their patio to enjoy while watching the sun go down over the fields. There were even some deer that saughted through the fields as the sun was setting.
Our stay was nothing short of wonderful. It was quiet, peaceful, and the hosts were so jovial and kind. If your timing is right, you may even get to expereince a night where they have live music playing outside on the patio acompanied with a delicious food truck!
